Erin Lawrence has been performing since childhood. She began her formal music training taking voice and piano lessons in her early teens performing in formal recitals and a contract performance at Kleink Elementary. She has also been trained in dance, visual arts, and the theater arts.
During her college career, Erin taught music at Christian Youth Theater, National Youth Theater, Sugar Land Music School, and as an independent voice and piano instructor. In CYT and NYT, she performed many duties including working as a teacher for Beginner and Advanced Musical Theater classes, a teacher for Beginner and Advanced Voice classes, a substitute teacher for various classes including a Ballroom Dancing Class, an Assistant Music Director, a Music Director, a Music Director of Summer Camps, a Drama Director of Summer Camps, a Choreography Director for Summer Camps, and a Camp Director. In these settings, she taught large and small groups of students ages 8-18. She earned her Associate Degree at Lone Star College Montgomery before transferring to Houston Baptist University. There, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Music Education with voice as her primary instrument and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She graduated with her Teaching Certification All Level Music) for the state of Texas in December 2014. Since then, she has continued working at Sugar Land Music School where she taught voice and piano lessons, and also worked as an Assistant Director Long Term Substitute in the choir department at Clements High School in Sugar Land. The next semester, she moved to Katy and taught for a year at Cardiff Junior High School before marrying and starting up her own independent music studio in 2016. She teaches all-level voice in a primarily classical style and from there helps students branch out to other styles such as musical theater and pop if they so choose. She teaches beginner to intermediate piano, frequently using Faber books as well as supplementary books. In both voice and piano, she incorporates music theory into each lesson to move students toward musical independence. Erin Lawrence is also a member of MTNA, TMTA, and their local chapter, KMTA.
